🍋🧈 Zesty Lemon Butter Fish Fillet
🧾 Ingredients:
-
4 white fish fillets (tilapia, cod, haddock, halibut, or flounder)
-
Salt and pepper, to taste
-
1/2 tsp garlic powder
-
1/2 tsp paprika (optional, for color)
-
2 tbsp olive oil (or a mix of oil and butter for searing)
-
3 tbsp unsalted butter
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
Zest of 1 lemon
-
Juice of 1 lemon (about 2–3 tbsp)
-
2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
-
Lemon slices, for garnish
🔧 Instructions:
1. Season the fish:
-
Pat fish fillets dry.
-
Season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
2. Sear the fish:
-
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
-
Add fish fillets and cook 2–4 minutes per side, depending on thickness, until golden and cooked through (fish should flake easily with a fork).
-
Remove from skillet and set aside.
3. Make the lemon butter sauce:
-
In the same skillet, melt butter over medium-low heat.
-
Add minced garlic and sauté 30 seconds (don’t burn it).
-
Stir in lemon zest and juice.
-
Let simmer 1–2 minutes until slightly reduced.
-
Stir in fresh parsley.
4. Serve:
-
Spoon lemon butter sauce over the fish fillets.
-
Garnish with extra parsley and lemon slices.
🍽️ Serving Ideas:
-
Over rice, couscous, or quinoa
-
Alongside roasted asparagus, steamed broccoli, or a green salad
-
With crusty bread to soak up the sauce
✅ Tips:
-
Use fresh lemon for the best flavor.
-
Don’t overcook the fish — it should flake, not dry out.
-
Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for heat or capers for briny contrast.
