Winter Wonderland Chocolate Chip Christmas Cookies

Posted on September 21, 2025

Oh, love that festive vibe! Here’s a recipe for Winter Wonderland Chocolate Chip Christmas Cookies — soft, buttery, and loaded with chocolate chips, with a snowy dusting of powdered sugar that makes them perfect for the holidays.

❄️ Winter Wonderland Chocolate Chip Christmas Cookies

🕒 Total Time: ~30 minutes (plus chilling)

Yields: About 24 cookies

🧾 Ingredients:

  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened

  • ¾ cup granulated sugar

  • ¾ cup packed brown sugar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 2 large eggs

  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • ½ cup white chocolate chips (optional, for extra holiday fun)

  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

🔪 Instructions:

1. Prep:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

  • Line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.

2. Mix Dry Ingredients:

  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.

3. Cream Butter and Sugars:

  • In a large bowl, beat softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 2–3 minutes).

  • Add vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, beating well after each.

4. Combine:

  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet, mixing just until combined.

  • Stir in chocolate chips (and white chocolate chips if using).

5. Chill (Optional but Recommended):

  • Chill dough for 30 minutes to 1 hour to prevent spreading and deepen flavor.

6. Bake:

  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough about 2 inches apart on the baking sheets.

  • Bake for 9–11 minutes, until edges are golden but centers are still soft.

7. Cool & Dust:

  • Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.

  • Once cool, dust generously with powdered sugar for that “snowy” winter look.

❄️ Extra Festive Tips:

  • Add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg for warm holiday spices.

  • Mix in crushed peppermint candies for a minty twist.

  • Use holiday-shaped cookie cutters to make sugar cookie versions with the same “winter wonderland” dusting.
