Turkey Teriyaki Meatballs

Here’s a flavorful, family-friendly recipe for Turkey Teriyaki Meatballs — juicy, lean, and glazed in a sweet and savory homemade teriyaki sauce. Perfect as a main dish over rice, or serve them as a party appetizer!


🍡 Turkey Teriyaki Meatballs

🦃 For the Meatballs:

  • 1 lb ground turkey

  • 1/3 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)

  • 1 egg

  • 2 green onions, finely chopped

  • 1 clove garlic, minced

  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated or minced

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

  • Salt & pepper to taste

🍯 For the Teriyaki Sauce:

  • 1/3 cup soy sauce

  • 1/4 cup water

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar or honey

  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar

  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

  • 1 clove garlic, minced

  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch + 2 tablespoons water (slurry)


🔥 Instructions:

1. Make the Meatballs:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. In a large bowl, mix ground turkey with breadcrumbs, egg, green onion, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, salt, and pepper until just combined.

  3. Roll into 1 to 1½ inch balls and place on a lined or greased baking sheet.

  4. Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until golden and cooked through (internal temp 165°F).

2. Make the Teriyaki Sauce:

  1. In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, water, brown sugar, vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger.

  2. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.

  3. Stir in cornstarch slurry and simmer for 1–2 minutes, until thickened.

3. Combine & Serve:

  • Add cooked meatballs to the sauce and toss to coat.

  • Simmer for 2–3 minutes to let the flavors soak in.


🍚 Serve With:

  • Steamed white or brown rice

  • Stir-fried vegetables

  • Noodles or lettuce wraps

  • Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions
