🧁 Instructions
1. Prep Apples:
-
Toss sliced apples with lemon juice, cinnamon, and cardamom. Set aside.
2. Make the Batter:
-
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round or square pan (springform pan works best).
-
In a large bowl, beat eggs and sugar until light and fluffy.
-
Stir in melted butter and milk.
-
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
-
Fold dry ingredients into the wet until just combined (don’t overmix).
3. Assemble the Cake:
-
Pour batter into prepared pan.
-
Gently press the apple slices into the top of the batter in a circular or scattered pattern.
-
Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar topping and almonds or pearl sugar if using.
4. Bake:
-
Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean and the top is golden brown.
5. Make the Caramel Sauce:
-
While cake bakes, combine brown sugar, butter, and cream in a small saucepan over medium heat.
-
Stir constantly until butter is melted and mixture bubbles gently (about 3–5 min).
-
Remove from heat, stir in vanilla and a pinch of salt.
🍽️ To Serve:

Serve warm or room temperature, drizzled with warm caramel sauce.
-
Optional: Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
