🥩🦐 Steak & Shrimp in Creamy Garlic Sauce
Ingredients:
For the steak and shrimp:
-
2 steaks (ribeye, sirloin, or filet mignon – about 1 inch thick)
-
8–12 large shrimp, peeled and deveined
-
Salt and pepper to taste
-
2 tbsp olive oil
-
1 tbsp butter
For the creamy garlic sauce:
-
3–4 garlic cloves, minced
-
1 cup heavy cream
-
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
-
¼ cup white wine or chicken broth (optional)
-
1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional, for depth)
-
Salt and pepper to taste
-
1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
-
Optional: crushed red pepper flakes for a little heat
Instructions:
1. Season & Sear the Steaks:
-
Pat steaks dry, then season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
-
Heat 1 tbsp oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
-
Sear steaks 3–4 minutes per side (for medium-rare), depending on thickness. Adjust cook time to your preference.
-
Remove from pan and let rest under foil.
2. Cook the Shrimp:
-
In the same skillet, add 1 tbsp oil + 1 tbsp butter.
-
Season shrimp with salt and pepper, then cook 1–2 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
-
Remove and set aside with the steaks.
3. Make the Creamy Garlic Sauce:
-
Lower heat to medium. Add a bit more butter if needed.
-
Sauté minced garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
-
(Optional) Deglaze the pan with wine or broth, scraping up brown bits.
-
Stir in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
-
Whisk in Parmesan and Dijon mustard (if using). Simmer until thickened (3–5 minutes).
-
Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes to taste.
4. Finish the Dish:
-
Return shrimp (and steak juices) to the pan to warm through.
-
Serve sauce and shrimp over the steaks or spooned alongside.
-
Garnish with fresh parsley.
