Here’s a delicious and vibrant Spicy Pineapple Jalapeño Chutney recipe — perfect as a condiment for grilled meats, tacos, cheese boards, or even just with crackers. 🍍🌶️

🌶️ Spicy Pineapple Jalapeño Chutney

🕒 Time:

  • Prep: 15 minutes

  • Cook: 25-30 minutes

  • Total: ~45 minutes

🧂 Ingredients:

  • 2 cups fresh pineapple, finely chopped (about 1 medium pineapple)

  • 2-3 jalapeños, finely chopped (seeds in for heat, remove for milder)

  • 1/2 cup red onion, finely chopped

  • 2-3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced

  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

  • 1/3 cup brown sugar (adjust to taste)

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin

  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon

  • Pinch of ground cloves (optional)

  • 1 tbsp olive oil or neutral oil

🔥 Optional Add-ins:

  • Red chili flakes – for extra heat

  • Fresh lime juice – to brighten up at the end

  • Cilantro – stirred in at the end for a fresh herbal note

🍳 Instructions:

  1. Sauté Aromatics:

    • Heat oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat.

    • Add onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until soft.

    • Add garlic, ginger, and jalapeños. Sauté for another 2-3 minutes until fragrant.

  2. Add Pineapple & Spices:

    • Stir in the chopped pineapple.

    • Add brown sugar, vinegar, salt, cumin, cinnamon, and cloves (if using).

    • Stir well to combine.

  3. Simmer:

    • Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, then reduce heat to low.

    • Simmer uncovered for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened and jammy.

  4. Finish:

    • Taste and adjust seasoning — more sugar for sweetness, more vinegar for tang, etc.

    • Optional: stir in lime juice or fresh cilantro at the end.

  5. Cool & Store:

    • Let chutney cool to room temp.

    • Store in an airtight jar in the fridge for up to 2 weeks (or water-bath can for longer shelf life).

🍴 Serving Ideas:

  • With grilled chicken, pork chops, or shrimp

  • On burgers or hot dogs

  • On cheese boards (pairs great with sharp cheddar or goat cheese)

  • As a dip or sandwich spread

  • Spoon over rice or grain bowls for a sweet-heat kick
