Posted on January 30, 2025

Here’s a delicious and comforting Slow Cooker Cheesy Burger Flavored Soup recipe! It’s packed with all the savory goodness of a cheeseburger, but in soup form—perfect for chilly days or when you’re craving something hearty and cheesy!

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups beef broth (or chicken broth if preferred)
  • 1 cup milk (whole milk works best, but you can use any milk you prefer)
  • 2 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup frozen or fresh shredded carrots
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or a mix of cheddar and American cheese for a cheeseburger flavor)
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard powder (optional, for that classic burger flavor)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for browning the beef)
  • 1/4 cup chopped pickles (optional, for garnish)
  • Fresh parsley or chives (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

1. Brown the Ground Beef:

  • Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until browned and fully cooked (about 5-7 minutes).
  • Drain any excess fat and set the beef aside.

2. Sauté the Aromatics:

  • In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened and fragrant, then set aside.

3. Combine Ingredients in the Slow Cooker:

  • Add the browned ground beef, sautéed onion, and garlic to your slow cooker.
  • Pour in the beef broth, milk, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir to combine.
  • Add the diced potatoes, shredded carrots, and mustard powder (if using). Season with salt and pepper to taste.

4. Cook the Soup:

  • Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours, until the potatoes are tender and the flavors are well combined.

5. Add the Cheese:

  • About 20-30 minutes before serving, add the shredded cheddar cheese and cream cheese to the slow cooker. Stir until the cheese melts into the soup and the mixture becomes creamy and smooth.

6. Serve:

  • Once the cheese has fully melted and the soup is creamy, give it a final stir. Taste and adjust seasoning, adding more salt and pepper if needed.
  • Ladle the soup into bowls and top with chopped pickles, fresh parsley, or chives for a fun garnish that mimics the classic burger toppings!

Tips:

  • You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
  • For a more intense burger flavor, feel free to add a little ketchup or mustard to the soup while it’s cooking.
  • Serve with crusty bread or croutons for dipping!

This Cheesy Burger Flavored Soup brings all the comfort of a cheeseburger into a creamy, hearty soup form! Perfect for those days when you’re craving something cheesy and filling. Enjoy! 😋
