🍽️ Sliced Baked Potatoes Recipe
Ingredients:
-
4 medium-sized russet or Yukon gold potatoes
-
3 tbsp olive oil or melted butter
-
2 cloves garlic, minced (optional)
-
Salt and pepper, to taste
-
1 tsp paprika or Italian seasoning (optional)
-
Fresh herbs like parsley or chives for garnish (optional)
-
Shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, etc., optional)
-
Bacon bits or sour cream for topping (optional)
Instructions:
-
Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). -
Prep Potatoes:
Wash and scrub potatoes thoroughly. Leave the skin on. -
Slice Potatoes:
Slice each potato into thin rounds (about 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick) — but not all the way through if you want a “Hasselback” style. Alternatively, you can fully slice them into rounds and lay them flat in a baking dish. -
Season:
Mix olive oil or melted butter with garlic, salt, pepper, and optional seasonings. Brush or drizzle over the potato slices. Make sure it gets between the slices if doing Hasselback style. -
Bake:
Place on a baking tray (or dish). Bake for 45–60 minutes, or until potatoes are golden brown and crispy on the edges, and soft in the middle. -
Optional Toppings:
In the last 10 minutes, sprinkle shredded cheese on top. After baking, garnish with herbs, bacon bits, or a dollop of sour cream.
Tips:
-
For extra crispiness, soak the sliced potatoes in cold water for 30 minutes before baking. Dry thoroughly.
-
Try adding thin slices of onion or bell pepper between the potato slices for extra flavor.
