Sliced Baked Potatoes are a simple yet delicious side dish that are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They’re super versatile and can be seasoned any way you like. Here’s an easy recipe to make them:

Sliced Baked Potatoes

Ingredients:

  • 4 medium russet potatoes (or any kind of baking potatoes)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (or melted butter)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (optional, for extra flavor)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley or chives, chopped (for garnish)
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for extra flavor)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven:
    Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with oil or cooking spray.
  2. Prepare the potatoes:
    Wash the potatoes thoroughly and pat them dry with a towel. Leave the skins on for extra texture and flavor (but you can peel them if you prefer).
  3. Slice the potatoes:
    Slice the potatoes into thin rounds, about 1/4 inch thick. You can use a sharp knife or a mandolin slicer for even slices.
  4. Season the potatoes:
    In a large bowl, toss the sliced potatoes with olive oil (or melted butter), garlic powder, thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper. Make sure all the potato slices are evenly coated.
  5. Arrange on the baking sheet:
    Arrange the sliced potatoes in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. It’s okay if the edges overlap slightly, but try to spread them out as much as possible for even crisping.
  6. Bake the potatoes:
    Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes, flipping the slices halfway through cooking to ensure they crisp up evenly. Bake until the potatoes are golden brown and crispy around the edges and tender in the center.
  7. Garnish and serve:
    Once the potatoes are done, remove them from the oven and sprinkle with fresh parsley, chives, or grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
  8. Serve:
    Serve immediately as a side dish with your favorite main course, such as grilled meats, burgers, or roasted veggies.
