Simple Coleslaw Recipe

Here’s a simple, classic coleslaw recipe that’s crisp, creamy, and easy to whip up in minutes — perfect as a side for BBQ, sandwiches, or fried chicken.


🥬 Simple Coleslaw Recipe

🧾 Ingredients:

  • 1 (14 oz) bag coleslaw mix (or 6 cups shredded green cabbage + 1 cup shredded carrots)

  • ¾ cup mayonnaise

  • 1 ½ tbsp apple cider vinegar (or white vinegar)

  • 1 tbsp sugar (adjust to taste)

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

  • (Optional) 1–2 tsp Dijon mustard or celery seed for extra flavor


🥄 Instructions:

  1. Make the Dressing:

    • In a large bowl, whisk together the mayo, vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper (and mustard or celery seed if using).

  2. Mix the Slaw:

    • Add the coleslaw mix to the bowl and toss until everything is well coated.

  3. Chill:

    • Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to let the flavors meld.

  4. Taste & Adjust:

    • Give it a stir and adjust seasoning if needed before serving.


🔁 Variations:

  • Add green onions, red cabbage, or a splash of lemon juice for brightness.

  • Use Greek yogurt in place of some mayo for a lighter version.
