Sausage Cream Cheese Crescents

Posted on May 3, 2025

Here’s a simple and crowd-pleasing recipe for Sausage Cream Cheese Crescents — golden, flaky crescent rolls stuffed with savory sausage and creamy cheese. Perfect as a party appetizer, brunch item, or quick snack.

🥐 Sausage Cream Cheese Crescents

🔸 Ingredients (Makes 16 crescents)

  • 1 package (8 oz / 225 g) cream cheese, softened

  • 1 lb (450 g) breakfast sausage (pork, turkey, or spicy), cooked and crumbled

  • 2 cans refrigerated crescent roll dough (8-count each)

  • Optional: ¼ tsp garlic powder or onion powder for added flavor

  • Optional: chopped green onions or parsley for garnish

🔹 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Cook the sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess fat.

  3. Mix the filling:
In a mixing bowl, combine cooked sausage with softened cream cheese. Add garlic or onion powder if using. Mix until fully blended.

  4. Prepare the crescents:

    • Unroll crescent dough and separate into triangles.

    • Place about 1 tablespoon of the sausage mixture at the wide end of each triangle.

    • Roll up from the wide end to the point, encasing the filling. Curve slightly to form crescent shape.

  5. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.

  6. Serve warm. Garnish with chopped herbs if desired.

✨ Tips & Variations

  • Spicy version: Use hot sausage and add a pinch of red pepper flakes.

  • Make-ahead: Assemble and refrigerate uncooked crescents up to 1 day ahead.

  • Cheesier option: Add shredded cheddar or pepper jack to the filling.

Would you like a version using puff pastry instead of crescent dough?
