👩🍳 Instructions
1. Make the Salisbury Steaks
-
In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, ketchup, Worcestershire, Dijon, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
-
Form into 4 oval patties.
-
Heat a skillet over medium heat with a little oil. Cook patties 4–5 minutes per side until browned (they don’t need to be fully cooked through yet). Remove and set aside.
2. Make the Mushroom Gravy
-
In the same skillet, add butter and oil. Sauté onions and mushrooms for 5–7 minutes until browned and softened.
-
Sprinkle flour over mushrooms, stir and cook 1–2 minutes.
-
Gradually whisk in beef broth, then add Worcestershire. Stir until smooth.
-
Return patties to skillet. Cover and simmer for 10–15 minutes until cooked through and gravy thickens.
3. Make the Mashed Potatoes
-
Boil potatoes in salted water until fork-tender (about 15–20 minutes).
-
Drain, mash with butter and warm milk until smooth and creamy.
-
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
🍴 To Serve
