ROUND TABLE PIZZA,

Posted on January 28, 2025

Creating a Round Table Pizza at home is easy and fun! While it may not exactly replicate the specific chain’s recipe, you can still make a delicious pizza with a similar style and flavor. Here’s a simple, customizable recipe for a Round Table Pizza-style pizza:

Round Table Pizza Recipe (Homemade)

Ingredients:

For the Pizza Dough:
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast (or 1 packet)
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water (110°F or 45°C)
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional for flavor)
For the Pizza Sauce:
  • 1 cup crushed tomatoes (or pizza sauce if you prefer)
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
For the Toppings:
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (for a classic pizza)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (for extra flavor)
  • 1/2 cup pepperoni slices (or any topping you like)
  • 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms (optional)
  • 1/4 cup red onion, thinly sliced (optional)
  • 1/2 cup green bell pepper, sliced (optional)
  • Fresh basil (for garnish, optional)
  • Olive oil (for brushing the crust)

Directions:

1. Make the Dough:

  • Activate the yeast: In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  • Make the dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and garlic powder. Create a well in the center and add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir to combine.
  • Knead the dough: Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Add a little flour if the dough is too sticky.
  • Let it rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover with a clean towel. Let it rise in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours, or until it has doubled in size.

2. Make the Sauce:

  • While the dough is rising, prepare the sauce. In a small saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.

3. Preheat the Oven:

  • Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat up. This will help create a crisp crust.

4. Shape the Dough:

  • Once the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it out onto a floured surface. Roll it out into a large circle (about 12-14 inches) or to your desired size.
  • If you like a thicker crust, keep the edges slightly thicker, or roll it out evenly for a thinner crust.

5. Assemble the Pizza:

  • Place the rolled-out dough on a parchment paper or pizza peel if using a pizza stone.
  • Brush a little olive oil along the crust to help it brown.
  • Spread a thin layer of the pizza sauce over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  • Sprinkle a generous amount of shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce, then add your choice of toppings.
  • Finish by adding a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese on top of the whole pizza for extra flavor.

6. Bake:

  • Slide the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone or place the baking sheet in the oven. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
  • If you like a crispier crust, you can bake it for an extra 2-3 minutes.

7. Serve:

  • Once the pizza is out of the oven, let it cool for a couple of minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh basil or any other herbs if desired.
  • Slice and enjoy your homemade Round Table-style Pizza!

Tips:

  • Customizing toppings: Feel free to get creative with your toppings! Round Table Pizza often offers a variety of options like sausage, olives, bell peppers, onions, and more.
  • For a crispier crust: If you prefer a crispy crust, use a pizza stone, or bake directly on the oven rack for the last few minutes of cooking.
  • Dough storage: You can make the dough ahead of time and store it in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Just let it come to room temperature before rolling it out.

This homemade Round Table-style pizza has the delicious, crispy crust and gooey cheese that’s loved by so many. It’s perfect for a family dinner or pizza night! Enjoy!
