Pork Chops

Posted on April 24, 2025

Yesss — let’s talk pork chops! Whether you’re craving juicy pan-seared, crispy breaded, or tender oven-baked, pork chops are wildly versatile and super satisfying. Here’s a classic, juicy, flavor-packed version to get you started:

Garlic Herb Pan-Seared Pork Chops

✅ Ingredients:

  • 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops (1 to 1.5 inches thick)

  • Salt & black pepper

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 3–4 garlic cloves, smashed

  • A few sprigs fresh thyme or rosemary (or 1 tsp dried)

  • Optional: squeeze of lemon or splash of white wine for brightness

 Instructions:

1. Season the chops:

  • Pat chops dry with paper towels.

  • Season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.

2. Sear ‘em:

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.

  • Add pork chops and sear 3–5 minutes per side, depending on thickness, until golden brown.

  • Reduce heat to medium, add butter, smashed garlic, and herbs.

  • Spoon the melted butter over the chops (baste!) for another 1–2 minutes.

3. Rest:

  • Transfer chops to a plate and let rest for 5 minutes before serving. This keeps ’em juicy!

👉 Internal temp tip:
Use a meat thermometer and pull them off at 140°F (60°C) — they’ll finish cooking as they rest to hit the safe 145°F mark.

 Bonus Flavor Ideas:

  • Add a splash of white wine or chicken broth to the pan at the end for a quick pan sauce.

  • Swap garlic/herbs for a honey-mustard or apple cider glaze for sweet-savory vibes.

  • Pair with mashed potatoes, roasted veggies, or sautéed apples for an A+ dinner.
