Poached eggs in the air fryer without oil

Posted on August 1, 2025

You can make poached eggs in the air fryer with no oil, and it’s surprisingly easy — as long as you use the right dish and method. Here’s a reliable way to do it:

🍳 Air Fryer Poached Eggs (No Oil Needed)

🕒 Time: 7–10 minutes | 🍽️ Serves: As many as your air fryer will fit

🥘 What You’ll Need:

  • Eggs (as fresh as possible for best results)

  • Ramekins or silicone muffin cups

  • Hot water

  • Air fryer

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

1. Preheat air fryer:

  • Set air fryer to 370°F (190°C) and let it preheat for 2–3 minutes.

2. Prep ramekins:

  • Place a ramekin or silicone cup into the air fryer basket (no oil needed).

  • Add 2–3 tablespoons of very hot water to each ramekin.

3. Crack in the egg:

  • Crack one egg into each ramekin gently so the yolk stays intact.

4. Cook:

  • Carefully return ramekins to the air fryer basket.

  • Cook at 370°F (190°C) for 6–8 minutes, depending on your preferred doneness:

    • 6 minutes = soft yolk, barely set whites

    • 7 minutes = semi-set yolk, firmer whites

    • 8 minutes = more cooked yolk

(You may need to experiment based on your air fryer model.)

5. Remove & serve:

  • Use a spoon to gently lift the poached egg out of the ramekin.

  • Dab with a paper towel if needed, and serve immediately.

✅ Tips:

  • Fresh eggs hold their shape best.

  • Don’t skip the hot water — it helps cook the egg evenly and gently.

  • No need for oil or nonstick spray if you use silicone or nonstick ramekins.

  • Serve over toast, salad, grain bowls, or avocado toast.
