Parmesan Chicken Casserole

Posted on April 24, 2025
Yesss, you’re speaking comfort food fluently now!  A Parmesan Chicken Casserole is a cozy, cheesy, baked dish that’s easy to prep and perfect for feeding a crowd or saving as leftovers. Think of it as a cross between chicken parm and a creamy bake — no breading or frying needed.

Parmesan Chicken Casserole Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups cooked, shredded chicken (rotisserie works great)

  • 1 cup marinara or pasta sauce

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • ½ cup sour cream or cream cheese (for creaminess)

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

  • Salt & pepper to taste

  • Optional topping: ½ cup seasoned breadcrumbs + 2 tbsp melted butter

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven: 375°F (190°C)

  2. Mix Base: In a large bowl, combine shredded chicken, marinara sauce, sour cream (or cream cheese), garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.

  3. Layer It: Spread mixture into a greased 9×13 baking dish.

  4. Top It: Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan evenly over the top.

  5. Optional Crunch: If using, mix breadcrumbs with melted butter and sprinkle over the cheese.

  6. Bake: 25–30 minutes until hot and bubbly. Broil for the last 2–3 minutes to get that golden cheesy top.

  7. Rest & Serve: Let it sit for a few minutes before digging in. Serve with garlic bread, pasta, or a side salad.

Variations You’ll Love:

  • Add cooked pasta to make it a one-dish meal.

  • Mix in sautéed spinach or mushrooms for extra veggies.

  • Use buffalo sauce instead of marinara for a spicy twist.

Want me to turn it into a meal prep version or make it low-carb?
