Orange Dreamsicle Salad

Posted on August 4, 2025

Here’s a simple, nostalgic recipe for Orange Dreamsicle Salad — a creamy, citrusy dessert “salad” that tastes just like the classic frozen treat. No cooking, no baking — just mix, chill, and enjoy!

🍊 Orange Dreamsicle Salad Recipe

📝 Ingredients:

  • 1 box (3 oz) orange Jell-O

  • 1 box (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix

  • 1 cup boiling water

  • ½ cup cold water

  • 1 (8 oz) tub Cool Whip, thawed

  • 1 (15 oz) can mandarin oranges, well drained

  • 1½ cups mini marshmallows

  • Optional: 1 cup crushed pineapple, drained

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Dissolve Jell-O:

    • In a large bowl, combine the orange Jell-O and boiling water. Stir until completely dissolved.

    • Stir in cold water and let chill in the fridge for 15–20 minutes, just until slightly thickened (not fully set).

  2. Mix in pudding mix:

    • Whisk in the dry vanilla pudding mix until smooth and thick. It will start to become creamy.

  3. Add Cool Whip:

    • Gently fold in the Cool Whip until fully incorporated and fluffy.

  4. Add the extras:

    • Stir in drained mandarin oranges, mini marshmallows, and pineapple (if using).

  5. Chill until set:

    • Cover and refrigerate for 2–4 hours, or overnight, until the salad is thick and scoopable.

  6. Serve & enjoy!

    • Serve cold in bowls or cups. Optionally top with extra oranges, whipped topping, or crushed vanilla wafers.

🧁 Tips & Variations:

  • Sugar-free version: Use sugar-free Jell-O, pudding, and light Cool Whip.

  • Real whipped cream substitute: Use 3 cups sweetened whipped cream instead of Cool Whip.

  • Add-ins: Shredded coconut, chopped nuts, or maraschino cherries for color.
