Here’s a cozy, easy, and satisfying recipe for One-Pan Chicken with Buttered Noodles — a complete meal made in one skillet! It features juicy pan-seared chicken cooked right alongside tender egg noodles tossed in butter, garlic, and a touch of herbs.


🍗 One-Pan Chicken with Buttered Noodles

🥘 Ingredients (Serves 3–4)

For the chicken:

  • 1.5 lbs (about 3–4) boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp paprika (optional)

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tbsp butter

For the noodles:

  • 3–4 cups chicken broth (enough to mostly cover noodles)

  • 8 oz (about 225 g) egg noodles

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • ½ tsp dried parsley (or 1 tbsp fresh)

  • Grated Parmesan (optional, for serving)


🔪 Instructions:

  1. Season & Sear the Chicken

    • Season chicken with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.

    • Heat olive oil and 1 tbsp butter in a large skillet or sauté pan over medium-high heat.

    • Add chicken and sear for 3–4 minutes per side until golden. Remove and set aside (it will finish cooking later).

  2. Sauté Garlic & Add Broth

    • In the same pan, lower heat to medium. Add garlic and sauté briefly (30 seconds).

    • Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer.

  3. Cook the Noodles

    • Stir in egg noodles. Cover and simmer for 5–6 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.

  4. Return Chicken to Pan

    • Nestle chicken back into the pan with the noodles. Cover and simmer 5–8 more minutes, or until chicken is fully cooked (internal temp 165°F / 74°C) and noodles are tender.

  5. Finish with Butter & Herbs

    • Stir in 2 tbsp butter and parsley. Mix gently to coat noodles.

    • Optional: sprinkle with Parmesan before serving.


🍽 Tips & Add-ons:

  • Swap egg noodles for rotini, orzo, or pappardelle if desired.

  • Add spinach or peas during the last few minutes for extra veggies.

  • Want creamy? Stir in a spoonful of cream cheese or heavy cream before serving.
