Million Dollar Pound Cake Cake

Posted on April 23, 2025
Million Dollar Pound Cake is a rich, buttery, classic Southern-style pound cake that lives up to its name thanks to its luxurious flavor and texture. Here’s a tried-and-true recipe if you’re looking to bake one:

Million Dollar Pound Cake Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound (4 sticks) unsalted butter, softened

  • 3 cups granulated sugar

  • 6 large eggs, room temperature

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour

  • ¾ cup whole milk

  • 1 teaspoon almond extract (optional, but recommended)

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Grease and flour a 10-inch tube pan or Bundt pan.

  2. Cream the butter in a large mixing bowl until smooth and fluffy.

  3. Gradually add sugar, beating well after each addition until light and creamy (about 5–7 minutes total).

  4. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

  5. Alternately add flour and milk, beginning and ending with flour. Mix each addition just until incorporated — do not overmix.

  6. Stir in vanilla and almond extracts.

  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.

  8. Bake for 1 hour and 30 minutes to 1 hour and 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  9. Cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.

 Tips:

  • This cake is dense and moist, perfect for slicing and serving with berries, whipped cream, or a glaze.

  • It stores beautifully — wrap it well and it keeps for days, and it freezes like a dream.

Would you like a glaze or sauce recommendation to go with it?
