Million Dollar Pound Cake

Posted on May 2, 2025
Here’s a rich, buttery, and truly indulgent recipe for the classic Million Dollar Pound Cake — known for its velvety texture, golden crust, and simple, elegant flavor. It uses basic pantry ingredients but tastes like a million bucks!

💰🍰 Million Dollar Pound Cake

🔹 Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (2 cups) unsalted butter, softened

  • 3 cups granulated sugar

  • 6 large eggs, room temperature

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour, sifted

  • ¾ cup whole milk (room temp)

  • 1 tsp almond extract

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • ½ tsp salt (optional, if using unsalted butter)

🔥 Instructions:

1. Prep your oven and pan:

  • Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).

  • Grease and flour a 10-inch tube pan (or bundt pan). You can also line the bottom with parchment paper if desired.

2. Cream the butter and sugar:

  • In a large bowl, cream butter with sugar until light, fluffy, and pale (about 4–5 minutes).

  • This step is key for the cake’s fine texture.

3. Add eggs:

  • Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

4. Alternate flour and milk:

  • Gradually add flour in 3 parts, alternating with milk in 2 parts. Begin and end with flour.

  • Mix just until combined after each addition — don’t overmix.

5. Add flavorings:

  • Stir in almond and vanilla extracts.

6. Bake:

  • Pour batter evenly into prepared pan.

  • Bake for 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  • Let cool in pan for 15 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.

🍽️ Serving Ideas:

  • Serve plain, dusted with powdered sugar, or with whipped cream and fresh berries.

  • It’s also amazing with a drizzle of lemon or vanilla glaze.

🧊 Storage:

  • Wrap tightly and store at room temp up to 4–5 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
