💰🍰 Million Dollar Pound Cake
🔹 Ingredients:
-
1 lb (2 cups) unsalted butter, softened
-
3 cups granulated sugar
-
6 large eggs, room temperature
-
4 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
-
¾ cup whole milk (room temp)
-
1 tsp almond extract
-
1 tsp vanilla extract
-
½ tsp salt (optional, if using unsalted butter)
🔥 Instructions:
1. Prep your oven and pan:
-
Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
-
Grease and flour a 10-inch tube pan (or bundt pan). You can also line the bottom with parchment paper if desired.
2. Cream the butter and sugar:
-
In a large bowl, cream butter with sugar until light, fluffy, and pale (about 4–5 minutes).
-
This step is key for the cake’s fine texture.
3. Add eggs:
-
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
4. Alternate flour and milk:
-
Gradually add flour in 3 parts, alternating with milk in 2 parts. Begin and end with flour.
-
Mix just until combined after each addition — don’t overmix.
5. Add flavorings:
-
Stir in almond and vanilla extracts.
6. Bake:
-
Pour batter evenly into prepared pan.
-
Bake for 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
-
Let cool in pan for 15 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
🍽️ Serving Ideas:
-
Serve plain, dusted with powdered sugar, or with whipped cream and fresh berries.
-
It’s also amazing with a drizzle of lemon or vanilla glaze.
🧊 Storage:
-
Wrap tightly and store at room temp up to 4–5 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
