Meatballs and Potatoes in the Air fryer

Posted on May 1, 2025
Making meatballs and potatoes in the air fryer is an easy, satisfying one-basket meal! The potatoes get crispy, the meatballs juicy, and it’s all done fast with minimal cleanup.

Air Fryer Meatballs and Potatoes

Ingredients:

For the meatballs:

  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey

  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs

  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan (optional)

  • 1 egg

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

  • Salt & pepper to taste

For the potatoes:

  • 2–3 medium potatoes, diced into 1-inch cubes

  • 1–2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp paprika

  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Prep the meatballs:

    • In a bowl, mix all meatball ingredients until just combined.

    • Roll into 1.5-inch balls (about 12–15 meatballs).

    • Optional: chill them for 10 minutes to help them hold shape.

  2. Prep the potatoes:

    • Toss diced potatoes with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

  3. Air fry:

    • Option 1 – Cook together:

      • Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).

      • Add potatoes and cook for 5–7 minutes first (they take longer).

      • Shake basket, then add meatballs on top or around the potatoes.

      • Cook for another 10–12 minutes, shaking once halfway.

      • Ensure meatballs reach 165°F (74°C) internal temperature.

    • Option 2 – Cook separately (if space is tight):

      • Cook potatoes for 15–18 minutes total, shaking every 5 minutes.

      • Cook meatballs separately for 10–12 minutes.

  4. Serve:

    • Top with chopped parsley or grated Parmesan.

    • Serve with a dipping sauce, ketchup, or a quick garlic mayo.

Tips:

  • For extra juicy meatballs, add a splash of milk to the mix.

  • Use baby potatoes or Yukon golds for creamier texture.

  • You can add chopped bell peppers or onions with the potatoes for more flavor.
