🍯 Honey Garlic Ribs Recipe

🧄 Ingredients:

  • 2–3 lbs pork ribs (baby back or spare ribs)

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for searing, optional)

🔥 For the Honey Garlic Sauce:

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/3 cup honey

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)

  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)

  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce (optional, adds depth)

  • 1 tsp sesame oil

  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger (optional, for extra zing)

  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

🍽️ Instructions:

1. Prep the Ribs:

  • Remove the thin silver membrane from the back of the ribs.

  • Season ribs with salt and pepper on both sides.

2. Cook the Ribs:

Option A: Oven Method (Most Common)

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).

  2. Place ribs on a foil-lined baking sheet. Cover tightly with foil.

  3. Bake for 2.5 to 3 hours until tender.

Option B: Slow Cooker

  1. Cut ribs into sections to fit.

  2. Place in slow cooker with a bit of the sauce.

  3. Cook on Low for 6–8 hours or High for 3–4 hours.

Option C: Pressure Cooker/Instant Pot

  1. Add 1 cup water or broth and ribs to the pot.

  2. Pressure cook for 25 minutes; natural release for 10 min.

3. Make the Sauce:

  • While ribs are cooking, whisk together all sauce ingredients in a saucepan.

  • Simmer over medium heat for 5–7 minutes until slightly thickened.

  • Set aside (you can thicken with a cornstarch slurry if needed).

4. Finish the Ribs (Caramelize):

  • Preheat broiler or grill.

  • Brush ribs generously with honey garlic sauce.

  • Broil/grill for 5–10 minutes, turning once, until edges caramelize and sauce bubbles.

🌿 Garnish Ideas:

  • Chopped green onions

  • Toasted sesame seeds

  • Extra sauce for dipping
