🫓 Homemade Stuffed Flatbread

🕒 Prep Time: 20 minutes (+ resting time)

🕒 Cook Time: 20 minutes

🍽️ Servings: 6 flatbreads

✅ Dough Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ¾ cup warm water

  • 1 tbsp olive oil (or any neutral oil)

✅ Filling Options (Choose One or Mix & Match):

🧀 Cheese & Herb:

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or feta

  • ¼ cup chopped parsley or green onions

  • Optional: a pinch of chili flakes

🥔 Spiced Mashed Potato:

  • 1 cup mashed potatoes

  • ½ tsp cumin

  • ½ tsp garam masala or paprika

  • Salt, pepper to taste

🌿 Spinach & Cheese:

  • 1 cup chopped fresh spinach (or thawed frozen)

  • ½ cup crumbled feta or mozzarella

  • 1 garlic clove, minced

  • Salt and pepper

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

1. Make the Dough:

  • In a bowl, mix flour and salt.

  • Add warm water and oil. Mix and knead into a soft dough (about 5–7 minutes).

  • Cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.

2. Prepare Filling:

  • While the dough rests, mix your filling ingredients together and set aside.

3. Divide & Roll:

  • Divide dough into 6 equal balls.

  • Roll out each ball into a small circle (about 5–6 inches).

  • Place 2–3 tbsp of filling in the center.

4. Seal & Flatten:

  • Fold edges over the filling to form a ball again. Pinch to seal.

  • Gently roll it out again into a 6–7 inch circle—be careful not to tear it.

5. Cook:

  • Heat a non-stick or cast iron skillet over medium heat.

  • Cook each flatbread for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.

  • Brush with melted butter or ghee (optional).

🍽️ Serving Ideas:

  • Serve with yogurt, chutney, tzatziki, or a side salad.

  • These are great for meal prep—reheat in a skillet or toaster oven.
