Here’s a Homemade Salsa Picante recipe — bold, zesty, and just the right amount of heat. It’s perfect for chips, tacos, burritos, or as a marinade base.


🌶️ Homemade Salsa Picante

Ingredients:

  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes (or 4–5 ripe Roma tomatoes)

  • 1/2 cup white onion, chopped

  • 2–3 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1–2 jalapeño peppers (seeded for mild, with seeds for heat)

  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro leaves

  • 1 tbsp lime juice (about 1 lime)

  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin

  • 1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)

  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

  • Optional: 1 tsp sugar (to balance acidity if desired)


🔪 Instructions:

  1. Blend Ingredients:

    • Combine all ingredients in a blender or food processor.

    • Pulse until you reach your desired consistency — chunky or smooth.

  2. Taste & Adjust:

    • Taste and adjust seasoning (more salt, lime, or jalapeño if needed).

  3. Chill (Optional):

    • For best flavor, chill for 30 minutes before serving to let the flavors meld.
