Here’s a classic homemade meatloaf recipe that’s easy, flavorful, and comforting:

🍽️ Homemade Meatloaf Recipe

Ingredients:

For the Meatloaf:

  • 2 lbs ground beef (80/20 recommended)

  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (plain or Italian-style)

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 large eggs

  • ¾ cup milk

  • 2 tbsp ketchup

  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 ½ tsp salt

  • 1 tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp dried parsley (optional)

For the Glaze:

  • ⅓ cup ketchup

  • 2 tbsp brown sugar

  • 1 tbsp mustard (yellow or Dijon)

🧑‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with foil or use a loaf pan.

  2. Mix the meatloaf:

    • In a large bowl, combine all meatloaf ingredients. Mix gently with your hands or a spoon until just combined—do not overmix.

  3. Shape and place:

    • Form the mixture into a loaf shape on the prepared baking sheet or press it into a loaf pan.

  4. Make the glaze:

    • In a small bowl, mix ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard. Spread half over the top of the meatloaf.

  5. Bake:

    • Bake for 45 minutes. Remove, spread remaining glaze on top, and return to oven for 15–20 more minutes, or until internal temp reaches 160°F (71°C).

  6. Rest and serve:

    • Let meatloaf rest 10 minutes before slicing to keep it juicy.

📝 Tips:

  • Add grated carrot or zucchini for moisture and extra veggies.

  • Want it spicier? Add a dash of hot sauce or red pepper flakes.

  • Leftovers make great sandwiches!
