Here’s a delicious and easy Homemade Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies recipe — soft, rich, and full of flavor. These cookies combine two classic favorites into one perfect bite!


🍪 Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies

Ingredients (Makes ~24 cookies):

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • Optional: 1/2 cup chocolate chips or peanut butter chips


👩‍🍳 Instructions:

1. Preheat & Prepare

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.

2. Cream the Butter & Sugars

  • In a large bowl, beat together:

    • Butter

    • Granulated sugar

    • Brown sugar

    • Peanut butter

Mix until light and fluffy (2–3 minutes).

3. Add Wet Ingredients

  • Add in the egg and vanilla extract. Beat until fully combined.

4. Add Dry Ingredients

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together:

    • Flour

    • Cocoa powder

    • Baking soda

    • Salt

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.

Optional: Fold in chocolate or peanut butter chips at this stage.

5. Shape the Cookies

  • Scoop dough into 1½-inch balls (a tablespoon or small cookie scoop).

  • Place 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheet.

  • Optional: Press down gently with a fork in a crisscross pattern or leave as rounded mounds for a puffier cookie.

6. Bake

  • Bake for 9–11 minutes, until the edges are set but the centers look slightly soft.

  • Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

  • Chewy: Add an extra tablespoon of peanut butter.

  • Crispy: Bake a minute or two longer.

  • Double Trouble: Roll dough balls in sugar before baking for a crinkly top.

  • Reese’s Style: Add chopped peanut butter cups to the dough.
