🍍🌿 Healthy Ginger Pineapple Drink
📝 Ingredients (Makes ~4 cups / 1 liter):
-
2 cups fresh pineapple chunks (or canned in juice, not syrup)
-
1–2 inches fresh ginger root, peeled and sliced
-
3 cups water
-
1 tbsp fresh lemon or lime juice
-
1–2 tsp honey or maple syrup (optional, to taste)
-
Pinch of cayenne pepper or turmeric (optional, for added health benefits)
-
Ice and mint leaves, for serving
🥣 Instructions:
-
Boil the ginger:
In a saucepan, bring the 3 cups of water and sliced ginger to a boil. Simmer for about 10–15 minutes. The longer it simmers, the stronger the ginger flavor will be.You can skip boiling and blend raw ginger for a more pungent taste, but simmering makes it smoother and easier on the stomach.
-
Blend the pineapple:
While the ginger water cools slightly, blend the pineapple chunks until smooth. -
Combine & strain (optional):
In a blender, combine the pineapple purée, ginger water (remove or keep the ginger slices depending on your strength preference), lemon/lime juice, and honey or maple syrup. Blend until smooth.
If you prefer a juice-like consistency, strain through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth. -
Chill and serve:
Pour over ice and garnish with mint leaves and a slice of lime or pineapple.
🧊 Storage:
-
Keep in the fridge for up to 3–4 days in a sealed container.
-
Shake or stir before serving, as natural separation will occur.
