1. Preheat Oven:

  • Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C).

  • Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.


2. Cook the Beef:

  • In a large skillet, heat butter or oil over medium heat.

  • Add ground beef and garlic; cook until browned, breaking up the meat.

  • Drain excess fat.

4. Assemble the Casserole:

  • Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the baking dish.

  • Spread half of the cooked beef mixture over potatoes.

  • Sprinkle with 1 cup of shredded cheese.

  • Pour half of the soup mixture evenly over the layers.

  • Repeat with remaining potatoes, beef, cheese, and soup mixture.


5. Bake:

  • Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour.
