Hamburger Potato Casserole Recipe

Ingredients:

1 lb ground beef

1 small onion, diced

4 medium potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced

1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup (or cream of chicken)

1/2 cup milk

1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Salt and pepper to taste

Optional: garlic powder, paprika, parsley, or Italian seasoning

Optional: 1/2 cup sour cream or cream cheese (for extra creaminess)
Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

Brown the beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and diced onion until beef is no longer pink. Drain excess grease. Season with salt, pepper, and optional garlic powder or paprika.

Prepare the sauce: In a bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup with milk (and sour cream or cream cheese, if using).

Assemble the casserole:

Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

Layer half the sliced potatoes on the bottom.

Spread half the beef mixture over the potatoes.

Pour half the soup mixture over the top.

Repeat layers.
