π₯© Ground Beef and Gravy Over Mashed Potatoes

π§ Ingredients:
For the Ground Beef and Gravy:

1 lb ground beef (80/20 or leaner)

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced
-
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
-
2 cups beef broth (low-sodium preferred)
-
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
-
Salt and pepper to taste

Optional: 1/2 tsp dried thyme or parsley for flavor
For the Mashed Potatoes:

2 lbs potatoes (Yukon Gold or Russet), peeled and cubed
-
4 tbsp butter
-
1/2 cup milk (add more for creamier potatoes)

Salt and pepper to taste
πͺ Instructions:
1. Make the Mashed Potatoes:

Bring a pot of salted water to a boil.

Add cubed potatoes and cook until fork-tender (12β15 minutes).

Drain and return to pot.

Add butter, milk, salt, and pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy. Cover to keep warm.
2. Cook the Ground Beef & Gravy:

In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Break it apart as it cooks.

Add chopped onion and cook until softened (about 5 minutes).

Stir in garlic and cook 1 more minute.

Sprinkle flour over the meat and stir to coat. Cook for 1β2 minutes to remove raw flour taste.

Slowly pour in beef broth while stirring, then add Worcestershire sauce and optional herbs.

Simmer until thickened (about 5β7 minutes). Season with salt and pepper to taste.
3. Assemble & Serve:

Spoon mashed potatoes onto plates or into bowls.

Top generously with beef and gravy.

Garnish with parsley if desired.
