Here’s a classic comfort meal: Ground Beef and Gravy over Mashed Potatoes — hearty, savory, and perfect for cozy dinners!


🍽️ Ground Beef and Gravy Over Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients:

For the Mashed Potatoes:

  • 2 lbs potatoes (Russet or Yukon Gold), peeled and chopped

  • 4 tbsp butter

  • 1/2 cup milk (more as needed)

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

For the Ground Beef and Gravy:

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour

  • 2 cups beef broth

  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 1 tbsp oil or butter


Instructions:

1. Make the Mashed Potatoes:

  • Boil potatoes in salted water until tender (about 15–20 minutes). Drain well.

  • Mash with butter and gradually add milk until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper. Keep warm.

2. Prepare the Ground Beef and Gravy:

  • Heat oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add onions and garlic, sauté until soft.

  • Add ground beef, breaking it up with a spoon, cook until browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat if needed.

  • Sprinkle flour over the beef mixture, stir well and cook 1–2 minutes to remove raw flour taste.

  • Gradually whisk in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, stirring constantly.

  • Simmer until gravy thickens (about 5 minutes). Season with salt and pepper.

3. Serve:

  • Spoon mashed potatoes onto plates, top generously with the ground beef gravy.

  • Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
