Here’s a simple and delicious Grilled Cheese Sandwich recipe, plus a variation for a Toasted Cheese Sandwich if you prefer that style.


πŸ§€ Classic Grilled Cheese Sandwich Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 slices of bread (white, sourdough, or whole wheat)

  • 1–2 tablespoons butter (softened) or mayonnaise

  • 2 slices of cheese (cheddar, American, mozzarella, or your favorite melting cheese)

Optional Add-ins:

  • Tomato slices

  • Cooked bacon

  • Caramelized onions

  • Mustard

Instructions:

  1. Butter the Bread:

    • Spread butter (or mayo) on one side of each bread slice.

  2. Assemble the Sandwich:

    • Place one slice of cheese between the unbuttered sides of the bread (buttered sides out).

    • Add extras like tomato or bacon if using.

  3. Cook:

    • Heat a skillet over medium heat.

    • Place the sandwich in the skillet, buttered side down.

    • Cook for 2–4 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula, until golden brown and crispy.

    • Flip and repeat on the other side until cheese is melted.

Instructions:

  1. Toast the Bread:

    • Lightly toast the bread under a broiler or in a toaster.

  2. Add Toppings:

    • Place toasted bread on a baking sheet.

    • Top with grated cheese and any extras (tomato, herbs).

  3. Broil:

    • Place under the broiler for 2–3 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden. Watch closely to avoid burning.

  4. Serve:
