Garlic Noodles with Shrimp

Posted on August 31, 2025

Here’s a rich and savory recipe for Garlic Noodles with Shrimp — buttery noodles tossed with garlic, soy sauce, and Parmesan, topped with juicy, pan-seared shrimp. It’s a fusion of Asian flavors and Italian comfort food, ready in about 30 minutes!

🍤 Garlic Noodles with Shrimp

🍜 Ingredients:

For the noodles:

  • 8 oz spaghetti, ramen, or yakisoba noodles (or any long noodle)

  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 6–8 cloves garlic, finely minced

  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (or light soy sauce)

  • 1 tbsp brown sugar

  • 1 tsp fish sauce (optional but adds umami)

  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

For the shrimp:

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes or paprika

Toppings (optional):

  • Sliced green onions

  • Toasted sesame seeds

  • Chili crisp or sriracha (for heat)

  • Lime wedges

🔧 Instructions:

1. Cook the noodles:

  • Boil noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside. Reserve a bit of pasta water (about 1/4 cup).

2. Cook the shrimp:

  • Pat shrimp dry and season with salt, pepper, and optional chili flakes.

  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add 1 tbsp oil or butter.

  • Cook shrimp 1.5–2 minutes per side until pink and just cooked through.

  • Remove shrimp and set aside.

3. Make the garlic sauce:

  • In the same pan, reduce heat to medium.

  • Melt butter, then add garlic. Sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.

  • Stir in oyster sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, fish sauce (if using), and pepper.

  • Add cooked noodles and toss to coat evenly.

  • Mix in Parmesan and a splash of reserved pasta water if needed for smoothness.

4. Combine:

  • Add cooked shrimp back into the pan and toss everything together.

  • Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.

5. Serve:

  • Plate immediately and top with green onions, sesame seeds, or chili crisp.

  • Serve with lime wedges for a fresh finish.

✅ Tips:

  • Want it creamier? Add a splash of heavy cream before tossing with Parmesan.

  • Swap shrimp with scallops, chicken, or tofu.

  • Use rice noodles for a gluten-free option (with tamari instead of soy sauce).
