Posted on September 19, 2025

A Fresh Fruit Salad is the perfect side or dessert—refreshing, colorful, and easy to customize. You can keep it simple or dress it up with a honey-lime glaze or mint for a burst of freshness.

Here’s a versatile recipe you can build on:

🍓 Fresh Fruit Salad Recipe

🧾 Ingredients (Serves 6–8):

Base fruits (choose a variety for color and texture):

  • 1 cup strawberries, hulled and halved

  • 1 cup blueberries

  • 1 cup pineapple, chopped

  • 1 cup seedless grapes (red or green), halved

  • 2 kiwis, peeled and sliced

  • 1–2 mandarin oranges, peeled and segmented

  • 1 banana, sliced (add just before serving to prevent browning)

  • Optional: mango, watermelon, apple, pear, pomegranate seeds

Optional glaze (highly recommended):

  • 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup

  • 1 tbsp fresh lime or lemon juice

  • 1 tsp lime zest (optional)

  • A few mint leaves, finely chopped (optional)

🥣 Instructions:

1. Prep the fruit

  • Wash all fruit thoroughly.

  • Cut into bite-sized pieces for easy eating and good texture balance.

  • Pat very juicy fruits (like watermelon or orange segments) lightly with a paper towel to reduce sogginess.

2. Make the glaze (optional but elevates flavor)

  • In a small bowl, whisk together honey, lime juice, and zest.

  • Stir in finely chopped mint if using.

3. Combine and toss

  • Place all fruit in a large mixing bowl.

  • Drizzle with the glaze and gently toss to coat everything evenly.

  • Chill for at least 15–30 minutes if time allows.

4. Serve

  • Spoon into bowls or serve in a large clear dish for a pretty presentation.

  • Garnish with extra mint, zest, or even a dollop of whipped cream or yogurt if serving as dessert.

🍴 Variations & Tips:

  • Tropical twist: Add mango, papaya, and coconut flakes.

  • Berry-forward: Focus on strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries.

  • Autumn version: Use apples, pears, grapes, and dried cranberries with a cinnamon-honey glaze.

  • Make-ahead tip: Prep everything but bananas and glaze ahead of time. Add those right before serving.
