Absolutely! 🍟 Here’s a simple, classic way to make crispy homemade French fries — golden on the outside, fluffy on the inside. Perfect as a snack, side dish, or indulgent treat.


🍟 Homemade French Fries (Classic Style)

🥔 Ingredients:

  • 3–4 large russet potatoes (or any starchy variety)

  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

  • Salt, to taste

  • (Optional: paprika, garlic powder, black pepper, or herbs for seasoning)


👩‍🍳 Instructions:

1️⃣ Prep the Potatoes:

  • Peel (optional) and cut potatoes into even sticks — about 1/4-inch thick for classic fries.

  • Rinse thoroughly in cold water to remove excess starch.

2️⃣ Soak (Important!):

  • Soak fries in a bowl of cold water for 30 minutes to 2 hours (or overnight in the fridge).

  • This helps them get extra crispy when fried.

3️⃣ Dry:

  • Drain and pat the potatoes completely dry using paper towels or a clean kitchen towel.

4️⃣ First Fry (Blanching):

  • Heat oil in a deep fryer or heavy pot to 325°F (165°C).

  • Fry the potatoes in batches for 4–5 minutes, until soft but not browned.

  • Remove and drain on paper towels. Let cool for 10 minutes.

5️⃣ Second Fry (For Crispiness):

  • Increase oil temp to 375°F (190°C).

  • Fry the potatoes again, in batches, until golden and crispy — about 2–3 minutes.

  • Remove, drain, and immediately season with salt (and any other spices you like).


🧂 Flavor Variations:

  • Garlic parmesan: Toss hot fries with minced garlic, grated parmesan, and parsley.

  • Spicy: Add cayenne, smoked paprika, or chili powder.

  • Truffle: Drizzle with truffle oil and top with parmesan.

  • Ketchup, aioli, ranch, cheese sauce, or homemade garlic mayo.
