Here’s a super easy and satisfying recipe for French Bread Pizza — crispy, cheesy, and ready in minutes! Perfect for weeknight dinners, kids’ lunches, or last-minute game night food.


🍕 French Bread Pizza

🕒 Prep Time: 10 min

🕒 Cook Time: 10–15 min
🍽️ Serves: 4


🧂 Ingredients:

  • 1 loaf French bread, halved lengthwise

  • 1 to 1 1/2 cups pizza sauce (jarred or homemade)

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

  • Toppings of your choice:

    • Pepperoni

    • Sausage (cooked)

    • Sliced bell peppers

    • Onions

    • Mushrooms

    • Olives

    • Basil

    • Crushed red pepper

  • Olive oil, for brushing

  • Garlic powder or Italian seasoning (optional)


🔪 Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven:
    425°F (220°C).

  2. Prep the Bread:

    • Slice the French bread in half lengthwise, then again crosswise if needed to fit your baking sheet.

    • Lightly brush cut sides with olive oil.

    • Optional: Toast the bread for 3–5 minutes before topping to help prevent sogginess.

  3. Add Sauce & Toppings:

    • Spread a generous layer of pizza sauce.

    • Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly.

    • Add your favorite toppings.

    • Sprinkle garlic powder or Italian seasoning on top if desired.

  4. Bake:

    • Bake for 10–15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the edges are golden brown.

  5. Cool & Serve:

    • Let cool for a minute or two before slicing. Serve hot with a salad or dipping sauce like ranch or marinara.


🍴 Tips:

  • Extra crispy? Use a baking rack on top of a sheet pan so the bottom doesn’t steam.

  • Make it ahead: Assemble and refrigerate for up to 4 hours before baking.

  • Kid-friendly: Let them build their own mini sections!
