Four-Ingredient Nougat Bars Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup marshmallow fluff (or 1 jar)
  • 1 cup roasted salted peanuts (or any nuts of your choice)
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips (you can substitute with milk chocolate if preferred)
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Directions:

  1. Prepare your pan:
    • Line an 8×8-inch baking dish or square pan with parchment paper or foil, leaving some overhang to easily lift the bars out later. This will help with easy removal.
  2. Make the nougat base:
    • In a medium-sized bowl, add the marshmallow fluff and caramel sauce. Stir until well combined and smooth.
  3. Add the peanuts:
    • Gently fold in the roasted peanuts (or your choice of nuts) to the marshmallow-caramel mixture, making sure the peanuts are evenly distributed.
  4. Transfer to the pan:
    • Pour the nougat mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it out into an even layer using a spatula or the back of a spoon. Press it down lightly so it’s compact.
  5. Melt the chocolate:
    • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white chocolate chips (or milk chocolate) in 30-second intervals in the microwave, stirring in between until fully melted and smooth. Be careful not to overheat the chocolate.
  6. Top the nougat bars:
    • Pour the melted chocolate over the nougat mixture, spreading it evenly with a spatula. If you’d like, you can lightly swirl the chocolate into the nougat for a marbled effect.
  7. Chill and set:
    • Place the pan in the fridge and chill for at least 2-3 hours, or until the nougat bars are firm and set.
  8. Cut and serve:
    • Once set, lift the bars out of the pan using the parchment paper or foil overhang. Cut into squares or bars and enjoy!

  • Variations: Feel free to experiment with different nuts like almonds, cashews, or pecans, or add some dried fruit for extra flavor.
