Fire-Roasted Tomato Salsa Recip

Posted on August 2, 2025
Here’s a flavorful Fire-Roasted Tomato Salsa recipe that’s easy to make and perfect for chips, tacos, grilled meats, or anything needing a smoky, spicy kick.

🔥 Fire-Roasted Tomato Salsa

🌶️ Ingredients:

  • 4 medium fire-roasted tomatoes (canned or fresh)

  • 2 cloves garlic, peeled

  • 1/2 small white onion, chopped

  • 1–2 jalapeños or serranos (fire-roasted for more flavor)

  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro (optional)

  • 1 tbsp lime juice

  • 1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)

  • 1/2 tsp cumin (optional for earthiness)

  • 1 tsp sugar (optional, helps balance acidity)

🔪 Instructions:

  1. Roast your vegetables (if using fresh):

    • Over a gas flame, grill, or under a broiler, char the tomatoes, peppers, onion, and garlic until blackened spots appear. Let cool slightly.

    • Remove excess charred skin from tomatoes and peppers if desired (leave some for smoky flavor).

  2. Blend or pulse:

    • In a blender or food processor, add the roasted ingredients, cilantro, lime juice, salt, and cumin.

    • Pulse until desired consistency (chunky or smooth—your choice!).

  3. Taste and adjust:

    • Add more salt, lime juice, or a pinch of sugar to balance flavors.

  4. Chill (optional but recommended):

    • Let it rest in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld.

📝 Tips:

  • Use fire-roasted canned tomatoes if you don’t have time to roast fresh ones.

  • For extra heat, leave in the pepper seeds or add a roasted habanero.

  • Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days in the fridge.

Want a version with fruit (like pineapple or mango)? I can tweak this!
