Here’s a quick and easy savory pancake recipe—perfect for breakfast, brunch, or even a light dinner. These are soft, flavorful, and customizable with your favorite add-ins like cheese, herbs, or veggies.


🥞 Easy Savory Pancakes

🕒 Prep Time: 10 minutes

🕒 Cook Time: 15 minutes

🍽️ Servings: 4 (makes about 8 small pancakes)


✅ Basic Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

  • 2 large eggs

  • ¾ cup milk (dairy or plant-based)

  • 2 tbsp olive oil (or melted butter)

  • ½ cup grated cheese (cheddar, feta, or Parmesan work great)

  • ¼ cup chopped scallions or chives

  • Optional add-ins:

    • ½ cup cooked bacon or ham, chopped

    • ½ cup grated zucchini (squeeze out moisture)

    • ½ cup chopped spinach or herbs

    • ¼ tsp chili flakes for heat


👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Mix Dry Ingredients:

    • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper.

  2. Add Wet Ingredients:

    • In another bowl, beat eggs, milk, and oil. Add to the dry mixture and stir until just combined (don’t overmix).

  3. Fold in Extras:

    • Gently stir in cheese, scallions, and any optional mix-ins.

  4. Cook:

    • Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat and lightly grease it.

    • Pour ¼ cup of batter per pancake into the skillet.

    • Cook for 2–3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.

  5. Serve Warm:

    • Serve with sour cream, Greek yogurt, salsa, or a simple side salad.


💡 Tips:

  • Want a gluten-free version? Substitute flour with a 1:1 GF flour blend or chickpea flour.

  • For a thicker batter, reduce milk slightly. For thinner pancakes, add a splash more.

  • You can make a big batch and reheat leftovers in the toaster or oven.
