Easy Orange Blender Cake

Posted on May 27, 2025
Here’s a super simple and delicious Easy Orange Blender Cake — made right in the blender with fresh oranges! It’s moist, citrusy, and perfect for breakfast, dessert, or afternoon tea. This cake is especially popular in Brazilian and Mediterranean-style baking where whole oranges are used.

🍊 Easy Orange Blender Cake

🧂 Ingredients:

  • 1 whole orange, seedless (with peel if thin-skinned, like Valencia or mandarin; otherwise peel thick-skinned ones)

  • 3 large eggs

  • 1 cup (200 g) sugar

  • ½ cup (120 ml) vegetable oil

  • 1 ½ cups (180 g) all-purpose flour

  • 1 tbsp baking powder

  • Pinch of salt

🧁 Optional Glaze (for shine and extra orange flavor):

  • ½ cup powdered sugar

  • 1–2 tbsp fresh orange juice

🔄 Instructions:

  1. Prep the orange:

    • If using a thin-skinned orange, wash and quarter it — removing seeds but keeping the peel.

    • If the peel is thick or bitter, remove most of it and just use the zest and pulp.

  2. Blend it:

    • In a blender, add the orange, eggs, sugar, and oil. Blend until smooth (about 1 minute).

  3. Add dry ingredients:

    • Add the flour, baking powder, and salt to the blender. Pulse just until combined — don’t overmix.

  4. Bake:

    • Pour into a greased and floured 9-inch round cake pan or loaf pan.

    • Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 35–40 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

  5. Cool and glaze:

    • Let cool for 10–15 minutes. For a glaze, mix powdered sugar with orange juice and drizzle over the warm or cooled cake.

✅ Tips:

  • You can add a little vanilla or almond extract for extra flavor depth.

  • Garnish with orange zest or powdered sugar.

  • Keeps well for 2–3 days covered at room temp or can be frozen.
