Here’s a simple and delicious Easy Hamburger Potato Casserole recipe that you can make with minimal ingredients and prep time:


Easy Hamburger Potato Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1 medium onion, chopped

  • 4–5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced

  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup (or cream of chicken)

  • 1/2 cup milk

  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (optional but recommended)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Garlic powder or paprika (optional)

  • Cooking spray or butter for greasing

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

  2. Cook the beef and onion:
    In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onion until the meat is browned and fully cooked. Drain excess grease. Season with salt, pepper, and any additional spices like garlic powder or paprika.

  3. Layer the casserole:

    • Arrange half of the sliced potatoes in the bottom of the dish.

    • Spoon half of the beef mixture over the potatoes.

    • Repeat layers with remaining potatoes and beef.

  4. Mix the sauce:
    In a bowl, whisk together the soup and milk until smooth. Pour evenly over the casserole.

  5. Cover and bake:
    Cover the dish tightly with foil and bake for about 1 hour, or until potatoes are tender.

  6. Add cheese and finish baking (optional):
    Uncover, sprinkle the shredded cheese on top, and bake for an additional 10–15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  7. Serve warm and enjoy!
