Easy Donut Recipe – Soft, fluffy, and irresistible, these homemade donuts are quick and easy to make without the need for a deep fryer! Here’s a simple recipe for you to try:

Easy Donut Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional, for flavor)
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Vegetable oil, for frying (or you can bake them if you prefer)

For the Glaze (optional):

  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk (more if needed)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the dough:
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon (if using).
  2. Mix wet ingredients:
In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  3. Combine wet and dry ingredients:
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until a dough forms. It should be slightly sticky but manageable. If it’s too sticky, add a bit more flour (a tablespoon at a time).
  4. Shape the donuts:
Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface to about 1/2-inch thickness. Use a donut cutter or two round cookie cutters (one large and one small) to cut out donut shapes. You can also form them into simple rounds if you don’t have a cutter.
  5. Fry the donuts:
In a deep skillet or large pot, heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Carefully add the donuts to the hot oil, a few at a time, being careful not to overcrowd. Fry for 1-2 minutes on each side, or until golden brown. Remove them with a slotted spoon and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  6. Optional – Bake the donuts:
If you’d prefer to bake them, preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the shaped donuts on a greased baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Make the glaze (optional):
While the donuts are cooling, prepare the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar, milk, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until smooth. Add more milk if the glaze is too thick.
  8. Coat the donuts:
Once the donuts are slightly cooled, dip them into the glaze, allowing any excess to drip off. You can also sprinkle with cinnamon sugar or other toppings if desired.
  9. Serve:
Serve the donuts warm and enjoy the soft, pillowy goodness!

Enjoy:

These Easy Donuts are a delicious treat that’s so simple to make and customize. Whether you choose to fry or bake them, you’ll have a batch of warm, fresh donuts ready in no time!

Let me know how they turn out, or if you want to try different glazes or toppings!
