Here’s a simple and delicious Crispy Fish Fry recipe that gives you golden, crunchy fish every time!


🐟 Crispy Fish Fry Recipe

βœ… Ingredients:

  • Fish fillets – 500g (boneless, firm fish like tilapia, cod, basa, or kingfish)

  • Lemon juice – 1 tbsp

  • Salt – to taste

  • Turmeric powder – ΒΌ tsp

  • Red chili powder – 1 tsp (adjust to taste)

  • Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tbsp

  • Garam masala – Β½ tsp (optional)

  • Rice flour or cornflour – 3–4 tbsp (for coating)

  • Semolina (rava/sooji) – 2–3 tbsp (for extra crispiness)

  • Oil – for shallow or deep frying

  1. Lemon juice

  2. Salt

  3. Turmeric

  4. Chili powder

  5. Ginger-garlic paste

  6. Garam masala (optional)

  1. Clean & Marinate:
    Pat dry the fish. Rub the marinade all over the fillets. Let it rest for at least 30 minutes (up to 2 hours in the fridge for deeper flavor).

  2. Coating:
    In a plate, mix rice flour (or cornflour) and semolina. This combo gives the perfect crisp texture. Coat each marinated fish fillet evenly.

  3. Fry:

    • Heat oil in a pan (medium heat). You can shallow fry or deep fry.

    • Once oil is hot, place the coated fish gently in the pan.

    • Fry each side for 2–3 minutes (until golden and crispy). Don’t overcrowd the pan.

  4. Drain & Serve:
    Place fried fish on paper towels to drain excess oil.

  • Serve hot with onion rings, lemon wedges, and mint chutney or tartar sauce.

  • Pair with dal-rice, curd rice, or enjoy as a snack/appetizer.
