🍤 Creamy Garlic Shrimp


📝 Ingredients (Serves 2–3)

  • 1 lb (450g) shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp paprika (optional, for color and mild spice)

  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (freshly squeezed)

  • Fresh parsley or basil, chopped (for garnish)


👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Prepare the Shrimp:
    Pat shrimp dry with paper towels. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika (if using).

  2. Cook Shrimp:
    In a large skillet, heat olive oil and 1 tbsp butter over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook 2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp and set aside.

  3. Make the Garlic Cream Sauce:
    In the same skillet, add remaining butter. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
    Pour in heavy cream, stirring to combine. Bring to a gentle simmer.

  4. Add Cheese & Season:
    Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and sauce thickens slightly (about 3–5 minutes). Adjust salt and pepper to taste.

  5. Finish the Dish:
    Return shrimp to the skillet. Toss to coat in the creamy garlic sauce.
    Add lemon juice and stir well.

  6. Serve:
    Garnish with fresh parsley or basil. Serve over pasta, rice, or crusty bread to soak up the sauce.

  • Don’t overcook shrimp — they turn rubbery fast!

  • For extra flavor, add a splash of white wine before the cream.

  • Add red pepper flakes if you want a little heat.

  • Substitute cream with coconut milk for a dairy-free version.
