Creamy Chicken Tortilla Wraps are a quick and easy meal that’s full of flavor. These wraps combine tender chicken, a creamy sauce, and fresh veggies, all wrapped in a soft tortilla. Perfect for lunch, dinner, or even a picnic, here’s a simple and tasty recipe for you:

Creamy Chicken Tortilla Wraps Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 large chicken breasts (or 3-4 chicken thighs)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/4 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon ranch seasoning mix (or taco seasoning for a different flavor)
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice (optional)
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
  • 1/2 cup lettuce, shredded
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup red onion, thinly sliced (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro (optional)
  • 4 large flour tortillas

Directions:

  1. Cook the Chicken:
    • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
    • Cook the chicken breasts in the skillet for about 6-7 minutes on each side, until fully cooked (internal temperature should reach 165°F/75°C). Remove from the skillet and let the chicken rest for a few minutes before slicing into thin strips or shredding it.
  2. Make the Creamy Sauce:
    • In a bowl, mix together the cream cheese, sour cream (or Greek yogurt), ranch seasoning (or taco seasoning), and lime juice. Stir until smooth and creamy. If you prefer a thinner sauce, you can add a splash of milk to adjust the consistency.
  3. Assemble the Wraps:
    • Lay a tortilla flat on a plate or clean surface. Spread a generous spoonful of the creamy sauce in the center of the tortilla.
    • Layer on the shredded chicken, shredded cheese, lettuce, diced tomatoes, red onion, and cilantro (if using).
  4. Wrap and Serve:
    • Fold the sides of the tortilla inwards, then roll it up tightly from the bottom, securing the fillings inside.
    • If you’d like, you can grill the wraps for 1-2 minutes on each side in a hot skillet to give them a little crispy texture.
  5. Slice and Serve:
    • Slice the wraps in half and serve immediately. You can serve them with extra creamy sauce or a side of chips or a fresh salad.

Tips:

  • Make it spicier: Add sliced jalapeños, a drizzle of hot sauce, or spicy salsa to kick up the heat.
  • Add veggies: You can also add sautéed bell peppers, corn, or avocado slices for extra flavor and texture.
  • Meal prep: These wraps are great for meal prepping! You can prepare the chicken and sauce in advance, then assemble the wraps when you’re ready to eat.
  • Make it lighter: Use a whole wheat or low-carb tortilla, and opt for Greek yogurt instead of sour cream for a lighter version.
