Cracker Barrel Meatloaf

Posted on May 4, 2025
Here’s a Cracker Barrel-style Meatloaf recipe — tender, juicy, and packed with savory flavor, just like the beloved restaurant classic. It features a special twist: crushed Ritz crackers and a sweet, tangy glaze.

🍖 Cracker Barrel Meatloaf Copycat Recipe

Ingredients:

For the Meatloaf:
  • 1½ lbs (680g) ground beef (80/20 is ideal)

  • 1 cup crushed Ritz crackers (about 25 crackers)

  • ½ cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

  • ¼ cup chopped onion

  • ¼ cup chopped green bell pepper (optional but traditional)

  • 2 large eggs

  • ½ cup milk

  • 1 tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

For the Glaze:
  • ½ cup ketchup

  • 2 tbsp brown sugar

  • 1 tsp yellow mustard

🔪 Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a loaf pan or line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Mix the meatloaf:
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, crushed crackers, cheese, onion, bell pepper, eggs, milk, salt, and pepper. Mix just until combined — don’t overwork it.

  3. Shape:
Form into a loaf shape and place in the loaf pan or on a baking sheet.

  4. Bake (first stage):
    Bake for 30 minutes.

  5. Make the glaze:
Stir together ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard.

  6. Glaze & Bake again:
After 30 minutes, spoon glaze evenly over the meatloaf. Return to oven and bake for another 25–30 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

  7. Rest & Serve:
Let rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing.

🍽️ Serving Ideas:

Pairs perfectly with mashed potatoes, green beans, or mac and cheese, just like Cracker Barrel does.
