Cracker Barrel Meatloaf

Here’s a cozy, copycat recipe for Cracker Barrel Meatloaf — moist, flavorful, and topped with a sweet tomato glaze just like the restaurant version!


🍽️ Cracker Barrel-Style Meatloaf

Ingredients (Serves 6–8):

For the meatloaf:

  • 2 lbs ground beef (preferably 80/20)

  • 1 cup crushed Ritz crackers (about 1 sleeve)

  • 1/2 cup finely diced onion

  • 1/2 cup finely diced green bell pepper

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1/4 cup milk

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

For the glaze:

  • 1/2 cup ketchup

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

  • 1 tsp yellow mustard


🔪 Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan or line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Make the meatloaf mixture:

    • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, crushed crackers, onion, bell pepper, eggs, milk, cheese, salt, and pepper.

    • Mix gently with your hands or a spatula until just combined — don’t overmix.

  3. Shape and bake:

    • Form the meat into a loaf shape and place it in the prepared pan or on the baking sheet.

    • Bake uncovered for 30 minutes.

  4. Make and add the glaze:

    • While it bakes, mix together ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard in a small bowl.

    • After 30 minutes, remove the meatloaf from the oven and spread the glaze over the top.

    • Return to the oven and bake for 20–30 more minutes, or until the internal temp reaches 160°F (71°C).

  5. Rest and serve:

    • Let the meatloaf rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing.

    • Serve with mashed potatoes, green beans, or your favorite Cracker Barrel-style sides.
