Here’s a fresh, creamy, and easy Crab Salad recipe — perfect for sandwiches, lettuce wraps, crackers, or just by the spoonful! You can use real crab meat or imitation (surimi) depending on availability and budget.


🦀 Classic Crab Salad Recipe

🥗 Ingredients:

  • 1 lb crab meat (real or imitation, shredded or chopped)

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise (add more or less to taste)

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional for tang)

  • 1/4 cup celery, finely diced

  • 2 tablespoons red onion or green onions, finely diced

  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill or parsley (optional, finely chopped)

  • Salt & pepper, to taste

  • Paprika or Old Bay seasoning (optional, for extra flavor)


🔪 Instructions:

  1. Prep the Crab:

    • Gently shred or chop crab meat into bite-sized pieces.

  2. Mix the Dressing:

    • In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, lemon juice, Dijon mustard (if using), salt, pepper, and seasoning.

  3. Combine:

    • Add crab, celery, onion, and herbs to the bowl.

    • Toss gently until everything is evenly coated.

  4. Chill:

    • Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 1 hour to let flavors meld.

  5. Serve:

    • Spoon onto lettuce leaves, buttered rolls, toast, crackers, or cucumber rounds.


🍽️ Variations:

  • Spicy: Add chopped jalapeño or a dash of hot sauce.

  • Avocado: Mix in diced avocado just before serving.

  • Asian-style: Add sesame oil, rice vinegar, green onion, and a touch of soy sauce.
