🥓 Country Ranch Green Beans
🕒 Prep Time: 10 minutes
🕒 Cook Time: 20–25 minutes
🍽️ Servings: 4–6
Ingredients:
-
1½ lbs fresh green beans (trimmed), or 2 (14.5 oz) cans of green beans (drained)
-
4–6 slices bacon, chopped
-
1 packet (1 oz) dry ranch dressing mix
-
1 small onion, diced (optional)
-
2 tablespoons butter (optional, for extra richness)
-
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
-
Cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove and set aside on paper towels. Leave about 1–2 tablespoons of the bacon drippings in the pan.
-
(Optional) Sauté diced onion in the bacon grease until soft and golden, about 5 minutes.
-
Add green beans to the skillet (if using canned, drain them well first). Stir to coat in the bacon grease and onions.
-
Sprinkle the ranch seasoning over the green beans. Add butter if using, and stir well to combine.
-
Simmer on low heat for 10–15 minutes (for canned) or until tender (if using fresh, you may need to simmer with a splash of water for 20–25 minutes, covered).
-
Stir in the cooked bacon just before serving. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
🍽️ Serving Suggestions:
-
Goes great with meatloaf, fried chicken, pork chops, or BBQ.
-
Can be made in advance and reheated — flavors deepen over time.
