Here’s a warm, cozy, and delicious recipe for Country Apple Fritter Bread β€” like apple fritters from the fair, baked into a moist, cinnamon-swirled quick bread. Perfect for fall mornings, holiday brunch, or as a sweet snack year-round.

🍎 Country Apple Fritter Bread

Servings: 8–10 slices
Prep Time: 20 mins
Cook Time: 50–60 mins
Total Time: ~1 hour 15 mins

πŸ§‚ Ingredients:

For the Apple Layer:

  • 2 medium apples, peeled and chopped (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work great)

  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

For the Cinnamon Sugar Swirl:

  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

For the Bread Batter:

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened

  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 Β½ tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 Β½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 ΒΎ tsp baking powder

  • 1/2 cup milk

Optional Glaze:

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

  • 1–2 tbsp milk or heavy cream

  • Splash of vanilla extract

🍳 Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.

  2. Make the apple filling:
In a small bowl, toss chopped apples with 2 tbsp sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon. Set aside.

  3. Make the cinnamon swirl:
Mix brown sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon in a separate bowl. Set aside.

  4. Make the batter:

    • Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

    • Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla.

    • In a separate bowl, whisk flour and baking powder.

    • Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet, alternating with milk, just until combined.

  5. Assemble the bread:

    • Pour half the batter into the loaf pan.

    • Layer half the apple mixture over the batter.

    • Sprinkle half the cinnamon sugar mixture on top.

    • Repeat with remaining batter, apples, and cinnamon sugar.

    • Lightly swirl with a butter knife if desired for a marbled effect.

  6. Bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. If the top browns too quickly, loosely cover with foil during the last 10–15 minutes.

  7. Cool and glaze:
Let the bread cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Mix glaze ingredients and drizzle over the cooled bread.

πŸ‚ Tips & Variations:

  • Add nuts: Chopped pecans or walnuts go great in the apple layer or sprinkled on top.

  • Use apple pie spice: In place of cinnamon for a warm blend of fall flavors.

  • Make muffins: Spoon into a muffin tin and bake for 20–25 minutes instead.
